Heber City Storage Shed Building Permit Requirements:

Heber City does not require a building permit for any structure that is 200 sq. ft. or smaller unless it has electrical or plumbing. We spoken with a Heber City Building official and they have confirmed this information with us. All buildings larger than 200 sq. ft. do require a building permit and must go through the permit approval process before beginning construction.

Midway

Midway City Storage Shed Building Permit Requirements:

Midway city does not require a building permit for any shed that is 200 sq. ft. or smaller.All storage sheds and other buildings larger than 200 sq. ft. will require a building permit.  We have confirmed this information on the Midway City Building Permit Webpage. Below is an excerpt from that page:

Building Permit Exemptions:

1. One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and storage sheds, playhouses, and similar uses, provided the floor area does not exceed 200 square feet (18.58 m2). (Floor area is measured to outside of foundation wall or outside of exterior framed wall, not inside of wall.)

Wallsburg

Wallsburg Town Storage Shed Building Permit Requirements:

Wallsburg building permits are governed by the Wasatch County Building Department which has adopted the International Building Code which states that a building permit is not required for any accessory structure or shed that is 200 sq. ft or smaller.

Wasatch County does not require a building permit for any storage shed or accessory building that is 200 sq. ft. or smaller as stated in the International Building Code. How big of a building can I build without a permit?

All structures exceeding 200 square feet require a permit. Single-story, detached accessory structures under 200 square feet do not require a permit. If you are building a structure under the square foot minimum, you should still check with the Wasatch County Planning Office to verify that what you want to build will meet the setback requirements. Also, decks that are under the minimum square footage requirement but are 30 inches or more off the ground will require a permit. If you are unsure if the structure you are building requires a permit, please call the office to verify.
